ABOUT ME – RAPHAËLE GREEN

STAGE & NEWS

Raphaële is a laureate of the MM Academy of the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels. She was also a member of the Young Soloists Ensemble of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen during the 2019-2020 season.

After a rich and rewarding tour with the KVS and its show Hannibal, Raphaële returns to the opera stage for the 2025-2026 season. First, she will appear on stage at La Monnaie in the opera ALI, the true story of a 12-year-old boy’s journey as a migrant and the horrors he endured. For the new year, she will sing at Classique à l’Abbaye de Dieleghem, with Morgane Heyse and Denzil Delaere. After that, she will be in concert at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse with Africa Lyric Opera at the end of January. Raphaële will then return to the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg for a revival of Der Kaiser von Atlantis. This production will then move on to the Grand Théâtre de Genève in Switzerland. At the end of the season, Raphaële will be in Bruges with the B’Rock Orchestra for A Last Supper.

With her natural talent and innate gift for the stage, Raphaële was quickly spotted and invited to perform at Belgium’s national opera houses. At ease in a wide variety of repertoires, the artist is now regularly invited to perform all over the world. She has performed in France, the Netherlands, Spain, England, Italy, the Czech Republic, China, the United States, the Republic of Congo, Rwanda, and Uruguay.

Her versatility and curiosity for opera have allowed her to appear in works ranging from the classical repertoire to contemporary creations, including: Mozart Concert Arias, Romeo and Juliet, Suor Angelica, Rusalka, The Diary of One Who Disappeared, Der Kaiser von Atlantis, María de Buenos Aires, Satyagraha & Ali.

In addition to opera, Raphaële enjoys combining her lyrical voice with other artistic disciplines. This was the case in Maison Chaos by and with Belgian-Congolese slam poet Joëlle Sambi, as well as in Dear Winnie and Hannibal with the KVS.

Through her choice of projects, she demonstrates her commitment to current social issues.

She can be heard in the title role of Astor Piazzolla’s Maria de Buenos Aires, with the ZVEZDOLIKI ensemble. The CD was released on the Antarctica label in October 2018 and was widely acclaimed by the music press. She also appears on Line Adam’s album La Chanson de l’Oubli, as well as on Stéphane Orlando’s album Mystérieuse Mélisande. The latter is the soundtrack to the film Night Falls (in which Raphaële also appears), which won the award for best performance at the 2023 Toronto Experimental, Dance & Music Film Festival.

Over the years, Raphaële has had the opportunity to work with renowned conductors such as Alain Altinoglu, Bassem Akiki, Giedrė Šlekytė, Corinna Niemeyer, Dirk Brossé, Guy Van Waas, and directors such as Ivo Van Hove, Olivier Py, Alan Lucien Oyen, John de los Santos, Tobias Kratzer, Michael De Cock, and Junior Mthombeni.

Raphaële regularly performs in recital with pianist Lionel Bams.
